Mariah Carey Pays Tribute to Fan Killed in Ariana Grande Concert Attack

Many musicians have expressed their grief and shock at the horror unleashed by a suicide bomber at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, on Monday (May 22). Mariah Carey reached out on Wednesday (May 24) to honor one of the 22 people killed in the attack: Martyn Hett, 29, a popular Twitter user and PR executive from Stockport, England, who attended the show with a friend.

Hett was also a huge Carey fan, part of her Lambily, whose Twitter bio read: "My life peaked when I met Mariah Carey." The singer posted a picture of Hett wearing one of her concert shirts with a message of love for her fallen fan.

"Devastated to learn that one of the victims in Manchester was part of the #Lambily. RIP Martyn Hett," she wrote in a message that featured broken heart and black heart emoji. "We will cherish your memory forever. His family and all the families affected are in my thoughts and prayers."

Hett, who was well-loved for his Audrey Roberts Noise compilation lampooning Coronation Street actress Sue Nicholls, was also mourned by Lorde, and singer Olly Alexander of Years and Years.
